The basic steps for welding with an electric welding machine are as follows:
Preparation:
Ensure good ventilation in the working environment to prevent the accumulation of harmful gases.
Wear protective equipment, including a welding mask, gloves, and fire-resistant clothing.
Check that the welding machine's power cord and grounding wire are intact to ensure equipment safety.
Equipment Settings:
Select the appropriate current and voltage according to the welding material. For example, when welding carbon steel, the current is usually set between 100-200A; when welding aluminum, the current may need to be higher (200-300A).
Adjust the electrode stroke (e.g., 60mm) and the applied pressure (e.g., 6000N) to ensure good contact between the electrode and the workpiece during welding.
Welding Operation:
Clean the workpiece thoroughly, removing oil, rust, and other impurities.
Aim the electrode at the welding position, press the start button, apply pressure, and turn on the power. The welding time is usually 0.1-1 second, depending on the material thickness and the current. After welding, maintain pressure for a short time (0.5-1 second) to ensure weld solidification.
Precautions:
Avoid prolonged continuous welding to prevent equipment overheating (duty cycle 20%).
Regularly check electrode tip wear and replace promptly (electrode tip size 16*50mm).
Pay special attention to oxidation when welding aluminum; use a special flux.
Cooling and Maintenance:
Turn off the power after welding and allow the equipment to cool down.
Check the cooling water flow rate (12L/min) to ensure it is normal and prevent overheating damage.
Regularly clean dust from inside the welding machine and maintain good ventilation.
