What Are The Different Types Of Electric Welding Machines

Electric welding machines can be classified into two types based on their output power: AC and DC. The main types include:

1. Manual arc welding machine (current range: 20-500A), suitable for welding steel and non-ferrous metals, offering high flexibility;

2. Submerged arc automatic welding machine (welding wire diameter: 1.2-6.0mm), used for long welds on medium and thick plates, with high efficiency (welding speed up to 60m/h);

3. Gas shielded welding machine (CO₂ or argon shielding), suitable for welding metals such as aluminum (penetration depth 3-10mm);

4. TIG welding machine (tungsten electrode diameter 0.5-6.4mm), specifically designed for precision welding of thin plates (0.5-10mm);

5. Plasma arc welding machine (arc temperature up to 30000°C), for deep penetration welding of stainless steel/aluminum (penetration depth up to 12mm). The appropriate machine type can be matched according to the material thickness (e.g., TIG welding for thin plates) and process requirements (e.g., submerged arc welding for high efficiency).
